Much ado about All-American Muslim

January 4, 2012 Dr. Olasky offers perspective about the controversial show

Next Sunday is the season finale of All-American Muslim, the TLC cable show that hit the headlines when the Florida Family Association successfully pressured some advertisers not to run commercials on it. I suggested last month ("Be careful about boycotts" and "Empires striking back") that it wasn't smart for a minority group, biblical Christians, to push boycotts, because the strategy is likely to turn around and bite us. October 12, 2011 From around the web: Steve Jobs' legacy, smartphones in the lab, and Eugene Cho on living with less

Kevin Kelly writes at QIdeas about why Steve Jobs' legacy will live on. "Why would a billionaire elicit such affection and love during this moment of fierce dissatisfaction with global capitalism?" Kelly asks. Among other things, he answers this question by pointing to Jobs' willingness to put art before money, his self-confidence, and "his knack for finding unexpected beauty." Read more here.
